Noah James is a guitarist and mandolinist who is greatly influenced by the works of Julian Lage, Punch Brothers, The Bad Plus and traditional folk styles. His writing style and playing is steeped in Americana, Blues and Jazz, and spans a broad range of energy from the meditative to raucous rock. The quartet will be playing all original music with arrangements that mess with conventional form, and invite the players to break out of their traditional roles, make bold statements and interact.

Ensgam (ensemble games) was formed with the intent of bringing our most playful musical ideas to fruition. The group explores ensemble playing, experimenting through games and play in order to develop a shared flexibility (and for fun).
