Bright Splinters: South Korean-born vocalist, composer and improviser Sunny Kim’s artistry is shaped by a deep exploration of culture, identity and connection through sound. With a vast range of influences from Bjork to Billie Holiday, Kim’s haunting, crystalline vocals are showcased on her six stunning albums—four of which have been nominated for Best Jazz Record at the Korean Music Awards. Pioneering trumpeter and composer, Peter Knight is celebrated for his innovative approach that blends acoustic preparations with electroacoustic processing. From his ten-year stint as Artistic Director of the Australian Art Orchestra, to his leading collaborations such as Hand to Earth, Knight continues to play a profoundly influential role in the Australian contemporary music scene.

The name 'Strange Attractors' is borrowed from the mathematics of complex systems. It describes the dynamic forces that pull systems in chaos towards coordination, but never in the same way twice. This term is used in the study of grand complex systems such as planetary orbits, flocking birds, swarming insects, and weather systems.
