Renowned pianist Danilo Rojas extends a cordial invitation to join him in an exploration of Jazz Latin standards alongside esteemed tenor saxophonist Paul Cornelius. Together, they will delve into a diverse repertoire, encompassing not only the compositions of Danilo's father, the distinguished Bolivian composer Gilberto Rojas, but also works by Violeta Parra, Chucho Valdés, and others. Their performance will feature captivating duets characterised by free improvisation, with real-time dialogue serving as a central element to foster a profound musical connection between the artists and their audience.

Having being in India and as integral members of the Afro Latin American jazz ensemble in Melbourne, Danilo and Paul bring a wealth of experience to their upcoming concert series. From February through May, audiences will have the privilege of witnessing the evolution of Danilo’s duets, marked by the intricate interplay of complexity, deep melodic form, and rhythmic interpretation (without percussion)—a hallmark of their unique musical expression.

Paul Cornelius, recognised as a distinguished jazz specialist, further enriches the performance with his expertise in Latin jazz and African music, adding layers of depth and sophistication to the ensemble's sound. The fusion of the upright piano's resonant tones with the distinctive sound of the saxophone creates a musical synergy unparalleled in Peru.
