WTF Tuesdays: Ollie Ledi Hanane's Indeterminate Extravaganza

  • The Brunswick Green 313 Sydney Road Brunswick, VIC, 3056 (map)

WTF Tuesdays are back at the Green! A new series mixing up jazz improv sessions- contemporary classical- and live scores to classic movies.

This Tuesday features 2 sets from composer/drummer Ollie Ledi Hanane. Firstly the Factory House Band and then Ollie's C.A.G.E Squares project.

Factory House Band:

FHB are an electro/acoustic trio that creates ambient soundscapes through long form improvisations. The trio takes glee in slowly moving though motifs that repeat and develop until they reach their natural conclusions. Their sound and process often bare some similarities to artists such as the Necks and Brian Eno.

Oliver Hanane’s C.A.G.E Squares:

C.A.G.E Squares is a mode of aleatoric composition in which musicians use pre-prepared prompts drawn out at random to spur ideas in the composition process. The ensemble will convene just prior to the performance to write compositions using the aforementioned prompts. Each member has approximately 30 minutes to write then the compositions are immediately performed live, no rehearsals.
