7:30PM WITCH HAZEL and DOGFLOWER
Caitlin Aloisio Shearer - voice
Eitan Ritz - electronics/live processing
With an intuitive approach akin to bricolage; the pair entwine found sound, spoken word poetry and electronics to transfigure the souvenirs of lived time into a pearl
Vulnerable space
Like a seashell interior
Like the warm side of a pillow
Pizza crust, bath tub, bedtime, pocket
Collecting things of purpose
and on purpose
Turning them inside out
Controlling the outcome
Weaving, contribution, revealing
Sharing
No pearls without sand grit, mess
Shared
8:30PM ANDREW SARAGOSSI - solo
With a passion for the unorthodox and a knack for cultivating unique ensemble identities, Melbourne-based saxophonist, improviser and composer Andrew Saragossi has established himself across several and varied creative outlets (MEATSHELL, Milton Man Gogh, DÜT) as a chameleon with a wind instrument - not bound by genre or personal taste, but by a relentless search for deeper musical meaning.
9:30PM - ARTHUR'S WALKS
Flora Carbo - saxophone
Helen Svoboda - bass
Eva Sunny Reyne - voice
Jacob Hiser - piano
Kyle Muir - guitar
Ollie Cox - drums
Spending Melbourne’s COVID-19 isolation at home on Arthur St, ears filled with the recent discovery of the music of Arthur Russell, Flora Carbo found inspiration in recording music and walking.
Arthur’s Walks is an exploration in groove, melody, tension and release performed as different 'walks'.
