BEKTET are back again at The Brunswick Green, playing a double bill of exciting originals and high-energy modern jazz covers!

BEKTET is the brainchild of jazz saxophonist and composer Jared Becker. The ensemble plays music influenced both by the energetic and dynamic modern jazz scene of new york and the idiosyncratic and diverse scene of Australian jazz, inspired by the likes of Immanuel Wilkins, Brian Blade, Julien Wilson and Barney Mcall. The band's compositions are thematic, spiritual & emotive - with open forms that allow for the ensemble to build and react, conveying improvisational storytelling.

Doors at 8pm, music starts at 8.30pm. $15 cash entry.

This event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and acknowledge their ongoing struggle for recognition and sovereignty.
