The Chris Maunders Trio launch into their third year of a long-standing residency at The Brunswick Green for 2020.

The ensemble approaches American and Australian jazz standards with a distinctive sense of space and flexibility. The trio's late 2019 debut album 'It's Like Reaching For the Moon' has become one of very few recordings in Australia with the chromatic harmonica placed as the lead melodic instrument.

Playing in the style of Toots Thielemans yet with a flare of his own, Maunders connects with fellow young Melbourne improvisers Stephen Hornby and Tom Allen-Graham as they explore communicative possibilities through jazz standard repertoire, embracing a chamber sound of the ensemble with a textural exploration of their instruments.
